Sexual assault charge on Deer Lake

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service says is is investigating a sexual assault on the Deer Lake First Nation.

Police says they received the complaint on July 14th.

The suspect is a 40 year old Toronto man.

He had been working as a grade nine teacher for summer students.

NAPS says the sexual assault was on an adult female victim and not a student.

The accused has been released from custody in the community, but the chief and council are making arrangements to have him removed.
