Shake the Lake takes a break in 2026

For the first time in more than 30 years it looks like there won’t be a music festival in Kenora over August long weekend.

Organizers of Shake the Lake have announced the won’t be hold the event this year.

They say that large-scale festivals are expensive to host with rising production costs.

Festival organizers says they explored a number of options including grants, the city and other sources of funding.

Unfortunately, they say they are going to pull the plug in 2026.
