Shakeup in Gold Mining

More changes to the face of Gold Mining in our region.
Barrick Gold has made an $11 billion bid to buy Placer Dome & has
plans to spin off the Cempbell, Musselwhite & Porcupine Mines to rival
Goldcorp for another $1.6 Billion.
Barrick officials say the side deal makes sense as Goldcorp & Placer
operate side by side in some locations.
Shareholders would be offered $20.50 (us) per share.
Placer shares shot up 20% in early trading this morning on release of
the news.
