Shaw Communications is giving an explanation following the closure of CJBN in Kenora.
A Shaw Spokesperson reached out to the Acadia Newsroom to confirm the closure and give more details.
In a statement Shaw says a major reason for stopping CJBN was due to duplication of service.
The two original programs Fishing with Gussy and the Weekender will still be produced locally.
Three positions have been affected by the station closure, and two CJBN employees will now work at Shaw TV.
The station will go off air on January 27th, 2017.
