Sioux Lookout residents will be paying more in taxes this year.
Council has approved the 2010 budget, with a tax increase of nearly 4%.
The Municipality says the budget enables Council to reinvest in its infrastructure and move forward with new programs and projects.
It also reflects the economic growth Sioux Lookout is currently seeing.
CAO Merlin Dewing says general inflation, uncontrolled costs and the Harmonized Sales tax all played a factor in the tax hike.
Dewing adds the Town had to rely on reserves to a greater degree than in the past.
