Sioux Lookout Holds Off On Tourism Centre Move

Sioux Lookout Council is holding off on a decision to close the tourism centre and relocate it to the Heritage Train Station.
The move would mean the centre would only be open 4-months out of the year.
Mayor Dennis Leney says they are looking at other options including having the museum merge with the Tourism Centre.
Leney says they want to work closely with the Chamber of Commerce and staff to find a viable solution.
He wants to work with the Chamber to leverage more money from the Governments to convert the current facility to a mult-purpose centre.
Leney adds Council is taking a close look whether it’s viable to keep the Centre open 12 months of the year.
