Sioux Lookout Hostel Closes its Doors

The 57-year-old Sioux Lookout Hostel has closed its doors due to health
concerns.
The 39-bed facility has been plagued with old water and heat systems,
asbestos and mold.
To date, there is no official plan for construction of a new Hostel,
even though an agreement was reached with both levels of Government in
1997 to do so.
The issue is not expected to be discussed again until the House of
Commons resumes sitting in the Fall.
Officials are working on a plan to help the current clientele.
