Sioux Lookout Hosting Evacuees

Officials in Sioux Lookout say evacuees have adapted well to their new surroundings.
Some 226-residents from New Osnaburgh are staying in Hotel rooms as a large fire continues to burn close to the First Nation community.
Emergency Control Group Spokesperson Brian MacKinnon says they are providing the basic necessities such as lodging, meals and toiletries and ensuring elders’ health needs are being met.
MacKinnon says they continue to provide recreational activities for children and youth and trying to get a regular routine set for everyone.
He stresses the Municipality is greatful for the continued support of local volunteers and organizations.
