The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has launched a new text messaging alert system.
By subscribing to the service, users will receive text messages from the Recreation and Culture Department on a variety of programming and services.
Information will be provided on upcoming events, membership sales, Cedar Bay Summer Camp activities, open ice time, minor sports and fitness related programming.
Officials note this is a trial run and if successful the municipality will consider expanding the service to other departments.
