Sioux Lookout LCBO finishes pilot project

A year long pilot project has wrapped up with Sioux Lookout’s L-C-B-O, which saw its days of operation reduced by 2 days per week and the results are noticeable.

Calls for service in the downtown core dropped an average of 61 percent on Sundays and Mondays than the rest of the week, resulting in 140 fewer arrests.

Additionally violations under the Liquor Licence and Control Act were decimated, with a 193 percent drop in calls and 210 percent fewer arrests.

The project began in September of last year and ran until July 31st.
