Next steps are being planned for a Trans-load facility on the east side of Sioux Lookout.
Industry, municipal and First Nation officials toured the proposed site of the project and discussed an Integrated Transportation System from Pickle Lake to Sioux Lookout to Sault Ste. Marie.
A clear consensus amongst officials is that the Provincial Government needs to table a plan and timetable to create the transportation network.
Premier Kathleen Wynne has indicated the Province will decide on a transportation corridor to the remote Matawa territory and Ring of Fire in a matter of weeks.
Groups at the meeting went on to emphasize the key role the Government of Canada has in this project.
