Municipal staff in Sioux Lookout are happy with the outcome of Monday’s election.
The Municipality was quick to declare a winner for Mayor but it took well into the morning to determine the 6-councillors.
Deputy Clerk Brian MacKinnon says strong voter turnout was a contributing factor.
MacKinnon stresses they wanted to ensure staff take their time and not make any mistakes in manual counting.
He believes everything went smoothly.
MacKinnon says over the next few days they will still look at tweaking their election plan.
Voter turnout was 55.95%
