The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has charged an OPP officer in connection with a shooting along the North Shore of Lake Superior earlier this year.
After a 13-week probe, the SIU concluded Constable Brian McCracken was not lawfully justified in shooting Sebastien Jobin and committed the offences of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent to wound.
On January 2nd, Constable McCracken pursued a vehicle reported stolen.
The pursuit ended along Highway 17 near Pays Plat where during a confrontation, Jobin was shot once in his left arm.
McCracken will appear in court on May 15th.
