The Ontario Special Investigations Unit says the death of a northwestern Ontario man in March had nothing to do with him being jailed by Provincial Police in Kenora just days prior.
The SIU says the 29-year-old man from Washagamis Bay died as a result of acute pneumonia.
He had been arrested on two separate occasions in late February and held in custody for only a short time each time.
A few days later, he was transported from his home to hospital where he died.
