SIU Clears Three Sioux Lookout Police Officers

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has cleared 3 OPP officers in Sioux Lookout of any wrong-doing in the death of a Whitefish Bay man.
39-year-old Brian Gray was shot during a May 9th stand-off on Whitefish Bay First Nation.
The SIU says Gray shot and killed 54-year-old George Carpenter in his own home and was holding others hostage.
Officials say Gray then exited the residence with a hostage, with a rifle held to his head.
Officers shouted numerous times for him to drop the gun, however Gray refused to comply.
Gray then fired shots in the air, before he was fired upon and contained by officers.
He was transported to Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The SIU says officers were justified in the use of lethal force, given Gray’s violent and unpredictable behaviour.
