The province’s civilian police watchdog is investigating an incident on the weekend involving two plain clothed Thunder Bay police officers.
Police say the two were alerted to a break and enter at a residence Saturday afternoon.
When they arrived they found a 63-year-old man being assaulted outside the residence.
They arrested a 29-year-old man after a struggle.
The Special Investigations Unit is probing the incident because of the injuries the suspect sustained while being taken into custody.
The 63-year-old was taken to hospital for the treatment of the injuries he received in the assault.
