Sledding mishaps

Red Lake OPP hope the New Year is a little quieter on the snomobiling front.

3 seperate accidents are under investigation from the holiday period.

In 1 case the throttle became stuck while a rider was trying to start the machine which promptly took off running free for about 200 meters before running into a cabin.

A 36 year old Red Lake man was injured when his sled hit a culvert causing about $400 damage to the unit.

A 26 year old woman was travelling near the shoreline of McKenzie Island Sunday evening when she lost control & hit some trees.

The operator was knocked out & taken to Red Lake Hospital before being flown to Thunder Bay for further medical treatment.
