Small Fire On Abram Lake Island

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is being credited with quick response to extinguish a small fire in the Sioux Lookout area.

The blaze sparked on an island on Abram Lake across from Boy Scout Point on the weekend.

A nearby home owner spotted smoke and reported the blaze and fire crews quickly responded.

No one was injured and no property was damaged.

There are currently 151-forest fires burning across northwestern Ontario
