Some parts of northwestern Ontario are getting hit by smoke blowing in from northern Manitoba.
Haze and a smokey odor has been reported Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances today.
Ministry of Natural Resources Information Officer Travis Moffatt says while the situation in Manitoba has been extreme, that hasn’t been the case here in the northwest region.
However, the hazard is expected to climb in the next few days due to warm, dry conditions.
Moffatt says there are currently 22 fire rangers in northern Manitoba, two water bombers and a bird dog aircraft, but no further resources have been requested.
