The smell of forest fire and a smokey haze in Dryden are coming from fires in the US Northwest, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Centre at the Dryden Airport.
An MNR spokesperson said Sunday afternoon, that they’ve received numerous calls about the smell and haze, and most of it is being carried to our area from the Northwest States.
There have been a few new fires reported in our area, but MNR crews are responding quickly.
Meanwhile, the hot and dry weather of the weekend will give way to cool and damp conditions in the coming week, with daytime highs of just 12 degrees expected by Wednesday.
