Smoking Ban Hearing in the Books

The Northwestern Health Unit is pleased with Monday’s judicial review
looking at the regional smoking ban.
The Province asked for a review of a previous ruling that stated the
Medical Officer of Health had no authority to implement a ban.
Bill Limerick says the 1 day hearing in Toronto went well but notes a
number of questions remain.
Limerick says the judges gave no indication when a ruling would come
down, but he’s hoping for some news by Christmas
He says both sides were given an opportunity to present their
arguments.
