Smoking Ban Reaction in Southern Ontario

While the Northwestern Health Unit and Bar and Restaurant owners await a decision on the Regional smoking ban, a Southern Ontario Medical Officer of Health believes the ruling will have ramifications across the Province.
A 3 member panel is reviewing mounds of evidence from recent testimony and Dr. Alex Hukowich (Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge) says officials in the North are taking a leading role and it will be a landmark decision either way.
A Board Spokesperson says the panel is taking its time but hopes to make an announcement by years end.
