SNOWFALL WARNING ISSUED

Environment Canada has issued a “Snowfall Warning” for part of our area.

Vermilion Bay, Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Ignace are all in the affected area.

Snowfall mixed with freezing rain is expected late this evening and overnight, changing to snow, ice pellets and freezing rain for Wednesday.

Environment Canada is saying these communities may see 10 to 15 cm of snow and slush.

Meanwhile, Red Lake, Ear Falls, Kenora, Fort Frances, Atikokan and Thunder Bay are covered by a ‘Special Weather Statement’ that predicts overnight snow and the first winter storm of the season.

It’s a safe bet that travel east of Dryden will be difficult starting this evening.

Environment Canada says updates will be posted as the evening goes on.
