The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is applauding a decision by the provincial government to allow its members to use groomed trails without a trail permit.
Under new regulations, sportsmen will not have to purchase a permit if they are travelling to hunt or fish in a specific area.
Mark Holmes says the deal gives anglers and hunters the same right they had prior to Bill 101 being passed earlier this year.
Holmes says that anglers and hunters who ride groomed trails for recreational purposes are being encouraged to purchase a permit.
