Social Gathering Results In Charges In Kenora

Another charge under the Emergency Measures and Civil Protection Act in northwestern Ontario.

Provincial Police in Kenora received a complaint Saturday night of a large group of people gathering at a home.

Officers attended and educated the group about the physical distancing rules currently in place because of COVID-19.

OPP say a 38-year-old man was charged with failing to comply with an order made during an emergency.

Last week, Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout announced charges in a similar event.

Under Provincial law, fines start at $750.
