Social Issues Addressed in Play in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Mountain Public School hosts the Award-Winning play ‘Danny, King of the Basement’ today.
The performance helps elementary students and teachers understand and cope with social issues such as child and family poverty.
Melissa Ewonchuk is the Lead Teacher of the Danny Schools Project and she says the goal of the play is to open up discussion between students, teachers and community members.
The Danny Schools Project is a Provincial initiative launched this year at 16-schools aimed at raising awareness of social issues impacting our communities.
