Social Media Key In Transition To Kindergarten

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board continues to work with parents to ensure a smooth transition to Kindergarten next fall.

The board has been using social media to help keep communication going during the COVID-19 shutdown.

Early Years Coordinator Ann McDonald says “We just really want to stay connected with our families that have registered into our schools. Show them how excited we are to be able to learn and grow with the children. Provide them with supports and information. Just that connectedness between the school board, the schools and the families.”

McDonald adds it’s always important to be providing opportunities for their families, noting most are now connected to social media.

She states for the first time ever, they will be using the Internet in the months leading up to the first day of school, to make that transition easier.
