Sol Mamakwa is the first ever representative of the new Kiiwetinoong riding.
Mamakwa took down two political heavyweights in the early hours Friday to claim the MPP seat at Queen’s Park.
He will serve as a member of the official opposition under NDP leader Andrea Horwath.
His win also means the Liberals won’t secure official party status, leaving the party one seat short.
