Let the sun shine down on Dryden!
After month’s of work, the Dryden Development Corporation is moving forward with the implementation of a 10-megawatt solar park on Hatch’s Field at the west entrance of the City.
Councilor Mike Wood says Johnson Controls has been selected to develop the project and notes its expected to bring forward job creation and eco-tourism.
The City has to wait for the Province to approve a new renewable energy program before moving forward, which is expected to come before the end of June.
Wood notes the project still has some 18 to 24-months before it becomes a reality.
The Solar park will become the largest in Canada and include substantial economic and environmental benefits.
