A northern Ontario MP says the region’s waking up high and dry after budget day.
Timmins–James Bay MP Charlie Angus says we’re not getting enough bang for our buck in the Trudeau government’s inaugural budget.
Angus says, with no commitment to the Ring of Fire, no mention to the role of FedNor, and no northern lens on Ottawa’s $11.9 billion infrastructure spend, he has some concerns. He says he wants to know how that money will roll out so that this isn’t just a big city budget.
On the flipside, Angus says he’s pleased to see the feds investing in rural broadband infrastructure and improving access to high-speed internet. (File photo)
