You want some good news today? Well…..here it is!
Let’s take a trip around the world for some stories that are actually going right……
First up, if you need a mental vacation, look toward Death Valley. After a winter of record rainfall, the famously arid desert is officially in the middle of a “Superbloom.” We’re talking a massive, vibrant blanket of pink, purple, and yellow flowers covering one of the hottest places on Earth. It’s a literal “life finds a way” moment.
The 2026 World Happiness Report just dropped, and for the ninth year in a row, Finland has taken the top spot. But the real story this year? Costa Rica hit #4—the highest ranking ever for a Latin American country. The experts say it’s not about the money; it’s about “cooperation in the face of adversity.” Something we know a lot about up here in the Northwest!
Some incredible news for families: A new “life-changing” drug for children with rare epilepsy has just passed its final trials with flying colors. Doctors are saying it’s helping kids lead “healthier, happier lives” by significantly reducing seizures that were previously untreatable.
And finally, a win for the environment:
In the UK, the “Large Tortoiseshell” butterfly—which was declared extinct in Britain last century—has officially been reclassified as a resident species. It’s back!
