Some Schools in Poor Shape

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board wants more money for school renewal.

Facilities Manager Kim Carlson says a new Government report shows that 11 buildings in the District are in poor condition.

Carlson says the Board is looking at drafting a long term plan that will incorporate declining enrolment.

The Province has indicated that the school audit will likely lead to some sort of funding announcement.

The cost to repair at least 3 area schools will become prohibitive in 3 years including Red Lake High.
