The Ontario SPCA is stepping in to help hungry canines in the remote northern community of Kashechewan First Nation.
A community-wide evacuation remains in effect due to flooding concerns.
750 pounds of dog food has been sent to the First Nation, ensuring the animals will be fed.
Deputy Chief Jennifer Bluhm says the SPCA is pleased to extend a helping hand.
The SPCA has been ensuring animal welfare in Ontario since 1873.
