The Dryden Police Service is set to crack down on pets wandering the streets and motorists taking up parking spots for lengthy periods of time.
Chief Doug Palson says a special constable is now training with the police force to fill a long time void of parking enforcement and pet control.
Palson says the individual should be fully trained within a month and will then be out hitting the streets.
Palson says they want the officer to be fully trained in all aspects of policing.
He notes having a special constable will reduce the use of using uniform officers on parking and animal control.
The position fills a long time vacancy in the community and is not a new position.
