There will be no sports this fall at Lakehead University or any other university in the province.
The Ontario University Athletics board of directors has announced all OUA-sanctioned sports programming and championships have been cancelled up until December 31st.
Any future decisions relating to COVID-19 will be made at a later date.
LU Director of Athletics Tom Warden says he’s disappointed with the decision but stresses it’s important to make decisions that best protect communities, schools and athletes.
Warden is asking students, athletes and communities to stay strong during this difficult period.
