Clerk Colleen Brosseau says under Provincial Legislation a by-election
can only be held at least 180-days after Council approves a by-law.
Brosseau says a by-election is rare in Ontario and she’s working with
the Government to ensure everything is done properly.
Brosseau says she’s not expecting to hear back from the Province until
after September 4th.
The next open Council meeting is September 17th.
Brosseau says its possible a by-election may be held earlier if the City
if forced to fill a vacant council position.
