The Staal Foundation Open is no more.
Organizers, the Mackenzie Tour, PGA Tour Canada and the Staal Family have decided to discontinue the Thunder Bay Golf tournament in 2019.
2018 Tournament Director Ken Boschoff feels the decision came down to a number of vital factors, including poor attendance this year.
Boschoff says they area also having difficulties recruiting volunteers and securing sponsorships that meet PGA Tour requirements.
Since 2014, the Staal Foundation Open has raised over $1 million for local charities.
