Expectations will be high at the Dryden Regional Health Centre now that the Board has approved a new Standards of Behaviour policy.
A team was formed to look at Hospital values and develop a document that sets out specific goals and expectations that should be met.
Marcel Penner and Delaine Willet were both involved in the process.
Penner says the policy covers staff, physicians, volunteers and even patients.
He says it focuses on respect, integrity, humility, compassion and accountability.
Willet says there’s still plenty of work to do before it’s fully implemented.
Willet stresses they want to ensure the goals and expectations are clearly visible in the hospital and even suggests certain statements may be written along the walls.
She adds they also have to continue dialogue with staff and physicians as they role out the policy.
The standards were drafted following lengthy consultations with staff at the hospital.
Hospital officials have suggested staff signing an accountability agreement to help them meet the standards.
