In loving memory of Stanley Shabaquay, age 51 of Wabigoon, who passed away on June 14th at Wabigoon.
Stanley is survived by his children: Marcel Shabaquay (Karen) of the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, Jesse Ranville of Fort Frances, Monique Ranville of Vancouver, B.C., Shawn Shabaquay of Vancouver, B.C. Siblings: Harriet Shabaquay, Sharon Shabaquay (Leslie Gardner), Leona Shabaquay, Clarence Shabaquay (Jackie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents: Harry Shabaquay “Neeobinaas” and Clara Shabaquay, son Reggie Shabaquay, brothers, Keith “Zum” Shabaquay, and Lawrence Shabaquay.
Stanley liked playing bingo, crib and the occasional card game. His passion was building and he was part of numerous projects of construction around the community. He was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand.
Visitation was held on Saturday, June 16th from 7:00 p.m. until service time at the Wabigoon First Nation Gym. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wabigoon First Nation Gym with a Native Elder officiating.
Interment to follow in the Wabigoon Lake First Nation Cemetery.
