Starbucks closing in northwestern Ontario

Starbucks Cafes will be leaving Safeway stores in northwestern Ontario.

They will be shutdown on June 1st.

The decision to close the kiosk was made by Sobey’s, Safeway’s parent company.

In an email to Acadia News, Corporate Affairs Manager Sarah Dawson says they regularly review operations and made the decision to close out the Starbucks locations at their stores in Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances.

Dawson says staff have been offered employment in the grocery stores.
