The Ministry of Natural Resources has declared an emergency in an area
of Buzzard Lake where fire crews continue to battle a large forest fire.
A fire of 2,400 square kilometres, about 20 kilometres southwest
of Vermillion Bay, continues to burn but a small amount of rain over the
weekend has helped forest fires
Information Officer Travis Moffatt says the state of emergency restricts
public access to the area.
He says waterbombers and helicopters can now drop water without fear of
hitting boats or people on area lakes.
