The Township of Ignace has declared a State of Emergency.
It is being initiated due to “COVID-19, Continuity of Operations and Legal reasons”.
Deputy Mayor Debbie Hart says although there are no reported cases of coronavirus in the municipality, they felt it was in their best interests to protect the community should circumstances change.
The declaration provides the community access to special provincial funding to help offset the costs of responding to the pandemic if money becomes available.
