State Of Emergency In Onigaming First Nation

A state of emergency has been declared in the Onigaming First Nation near Nestor Falls.
The declaration was issued in response to a rash of suicides and suicide attempts.
A fourth person died recently.
Band officials says there is an urgent need for additional mental health support services to assist the community as it struggles to cope.
The community is preparing a longer term strategy, but says help is needed now to deal with the crisis first.
