The number of fatal motor vehicle collisions on Highway 17 between Vermilion Bay and Kenora is not a result of poor road conditions.
So says OPP Regional Traffic Staff Sgt. Bob Beatty.
He is touring the region stressing that motorists must be responsible for their actions and adjust to changing conditions.
In Northwestern Ontario, 28 people died in 2000 and 861 were injured, costing taxpayers $100 million in health care costs.
