Steady Start To Forest Fire Season

A change in the weather has helped slow the forest fire situation in northwestern Ontario.
There have been 27 fires since the start of the forest fire season on April 1st.
Fort Frances and Kenora have seen the highest activity with a total of 15 fires.
The Dryden district has seen four, while one fire has occurred in both Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.
A total of 410-hectares of land has been charred.
There were nine new fires over the weekend.
