The Dryden area was surprisingly dry, despite being hit with several
rain and wind storms during the month of June.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Sandy Radecki says the normal amount
of precipitation for June in Dryden is about 105 millimeters, and the area received about 30-mm below that.
However, June was one of the wettest on record for most parts of Northwestern Ontario.
Radecki says the upcoming weeks show above average temperatures for
the entire Northwest.
Environment Canada is also investigating high winds that knocked down
trees and power lines and damaged several camps last week.
Witnesses in the Eagle Lake area reported a tornado touching down.
