Strike at Patricia Gardens Over

The strike at Patricia Gardens in Dryden has come to an end 17 months
after 9 members of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union
walked off the job.
Employees have accepted a 4-year deal retroactive to April 2003 which
comes with a 11% wage hike along with some improvements to benefits.
Union Rep John McInnes says new faces on both sides helped.
Not everyone will be returning to work right away but the first shift
is expected to resume next Monday.
The night shift has been eliminated and there will be some changes to
scheduling when the workers return to the job.
