Pickets are up at the Winnipeg Airport.
They’re being manned by duty managers, administrative workers, tradespersons, and airfield maintenance workers who are represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
Their union says seven days of mediated talks ended with the employer unwilling to address key issues around contracting work.
The Winnipeg Airport Authority insists it does not contract out work outside what’s now permitted and blames the union for the breakdown in talks.
The Authority doesn’t anticipate any significant disruption in service, but is directing travelers to its website for updates.
