The Stars came crashing down to earth as the Dryden Ice Dogs stunned the SIJHL Leaders in Thunder Bay.
Three, third period goals propelled the Ice Dogs to a 4-2 win over the Fort William North Stars Wednesday night.
The Stars entered the game winners of 7 straight and with only 2-regulation losses.
Kevin Tomalty scored the winner and says his team came together and didn’t panic after a shaky second period.
Kevin Burton scored twice, while Justin Lightfoot added a power-play goal.
Sonny Albert was sensational in net making 43 saves.
The Ice Dogs are now 4-points behind the 4th place Diesels after Schreiber fell 5-3 to the Thunder Bay Bearcats.
The win was also the first for Interim Coach Vince Gernat.
