The Northwestern Health Unit says it’s pleased with the growth of its ‘Hike It or Bike It Challenge’.
Health Educator Judy Underwood says over 600-people signed up this year, with 450 completing the three week challenge.
Underwood adds the healthy initiative continues to gain in popularity year after year, with more and more people opting to park their car and walk or bike to school and work.
A young participant of the initiative says she was inspired to take part after watching other people who were involved.
10-year-old Addy Greer says she likes the challenge and enjoys participating with her friends.
